Rivendell bag modifications

One of the best thing to come out of this sewing thing is the opportunity to meet folks and help them out with some sewing needs. Here's a nice photo essay from Manny, who came by for a quick visit turned dinner, hang out, and repair job. Thanks Manny! Manny's Flickr Link Here.

Mixed Terrain ride and motorpacing

start here.
Thirty minutes later, you're here. The first mixed terrain ride of the year was short and fun.
On the way home I heard a motorcycle approaching from the rear, so I clicked into high gear to jump on his wheel, and there was  already a rider there! So I jumped in. Finally, at a red light, we were all there laughing pretty hard. So much fun.

Jack Moonbeam

Jack sent some reflective hi-vis fabric for Molly's wool commuter jacket. Here's my version of Jack Holmgren's famous "Moonbeam".  Please be safe, especially after dark. Jack created a powerpoint presentation about conspicuity, safety, and day/night visibility. The link here is from the Volagi website.

Milani Replica

I'll be trying out a Milani Replica, should be fun.

Reflective Brevet Bag in the works

Combination of three different reflective fabrics will be used in addition to 1000D Cordura with WR coating.

Only one person would request a bag with this much conspicuity.

Rotary punch for leather

My rotary punch snapped in half, so the new one is on it's way. If you are one of the four people  waiting for your bags today, my apologies.

Two 200k's

Last Saturday, Heath and I rode the Coastal Cruz 200k designed by Jesse Marsh. Lots of good climbing and some dirt sections kept things fun. I used 700x23 tires and they were fine, but I was wondering how 700x28  tires would feel, so I did the ride again a few days later.

Hills, giant redwoods, the ocean, year-round riding weather, and lots of good riding partners. I love living here.

My first road bike

The first road bike I rode was my brothers Huffy Omni 10 back in the 7th grade. American Flyers just came out and I was hooked. Check out the blue gumwall tires, head tube angle and fork rake, 26 x 1 3/8" tires too. Looks kind of like a modern 650b rando doesn't it?
