Ely, I have a question. What plastic do you use for your map case material? I have some stuff that I used over the last season and it held up pretty well, but it sorta has the vibe of becoming brittle over time. Thanks for any suggestions! I love watching your work, Dave
Sounds like you may be using mylar? .040 mil or .030? clear vinyl is pretty good. I get it from Tap. http://www.tapplastics.com/product_info/plastics_information/specialty You'd have to get a little and try it out.
Thanks again for your generosity! I happen to have some vinyl around, so I should be all set. Now that you put a name to it it seems like such an obvious material to use. I guess the thickness of what I've got on hand threw me off a little.
Hi Ely, I'm at something of a dead end. I am trying to do the sort of detail that I see in the close-up photo above; I can approximate this, but its rougher then I'd like.
I currently have a Consew RB 1 flatbed as my sole sewing machine. I'm wondering, do you do your trim and leather patch stitching with your Pfaff? It looks so good and I want to figure out what I need to do to get there. Best regards, Dave
